SimonsVoss and the global leader in the manufacturer of access control panels Mercury Security agree to collaborate in the field of system integration.
The cooperation is a gain for both sides: by integrating SmartIntego into its Authentic Mercury platform, Mercury is able to offer the SimonsVoss solution for integrated access control, SmartIntego, to its customers. For SimonsVoss, the cooperation with Mercury and its 20 globally active partner businesses involved in building security technology opens up an entirely new customer group. Having delivered more than three million access control panels, Mercury has the largest installed base of access control hardware worldwide.
SmartIntego is an extremely appealing product for Mercury and its partners: the solution can be seamlessly integrated into existing complex access control systems for building security technology. The wireless and battery-driven digital locking cylinder, door fittings or padlocks are easy to install and communicate with the panel via wireless radio technology. This does away with extensive conversions for building operators. All existing ID media can be put to further use, so there are no extra costs involved in the conversion process. Plus no additional software is required for the integration into an existing access control system.
"The particular advantage of the SimonsVoss SmartIntego line is the integration into the Mercury access control panel by means of the radio-based gateway node via TCP/IP, which means that unlike RS485-based systems, no additional cables need to be installed. Existing IP infrastructures can be put to further use," says Oliver Quaisser, SmartIntego Sales Director.
"We are very excited about our technology partnership with SimonsVoss and the ability to deliver SmartIntego products through the Authentic Mercury platform," said Frank Gasztonyi, CTO of Mercury Security. "This integration enables our OEM partners to extend their Mercury interface by incorporating SimonsVoss' wireless lock capabilities within their access control solutions. The SimonsVoss partnership further demonstrates the value of the Authentic Mercury platform allowing our partners to leverage their existing investment with the Mercury family of products."
SimonsVoss and Mercury will be presenting their solutions together for the first time at the International Security Conference & Exhibition (ISC West) in Las Vegas in April 2015.
