ASIS International and the City of The Hague have announced that the ASIS 13th European Security Conference & Exhibition will take place at the World Forum in The Hague, The Netherlands on 1-3 April 2014. The 2014 Conference & Exhibition is expected to attract around 500 senior security professionals. It will kick off on Tuesday 1 April with a welcome drink in the exhibition area. Over the following 2 days, delegates will be able to attend 33 high-level educational sessions divided over 3 parallel tracks. In addition, the conference will feature 3 keynote presentations.

Henk Kool, Vice Mayor of the City of The Hague commented: "I'm very glad that we will host the ASIS 13th European Security Conference & Exhibition in our city. The Hague is the International City of peace and justice with more than 150 international organisations and courts such as the International Criminal Court, the Yugoslavia Tribunal, the NATO Communications and Information (NCI) Agency, Europol, Eurojust, the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and the European Cyber Crime Centre (EC3). In addition to peace and justice, the city of The Hague is focused on security issues. The security cluster that we developed with business partners, knowledge institutes and government bodies is acknowledged as the Dutch national security cluster and known as The Hague Security Delta (HSD). Our goal is to develop HSD into an international security hub, the right environment for solving complex security issues, as well as for business and innovation. We want to facilitate European and trans-Atlantic cooperation in the field of security as much as we can. ASIS International is a strong international security network, so we are proud to host ASIS Europe 2014 and we will provide all the support to organise a top-level conference."

Erik de Vries, CPP, Chairman of the ASIS Benelux Chapter, added: "As Chairman of the ASIS International Benelux Chapter I look forward to welcoming the 13th European Security Conference & Exhibition to The Hague. I am convinced that it will not only be of great value for ASIS International members, but it will boost professional attention, business and knowledge sharing opportunities for the entire Benelux Security Industry. For some years ASIS Benelux - being the third largest ASIS Chapter in Europe - has aimed for hosting the ASIS European Security Conference & Exhibition. We feel that with the city of The Hague, sometimes referred to as the city of peace and justice and with strong links to security, we have found a prominent partner."

The ASIS 13th European Security Conference & Exhibition will also include:

  • A summit for Chief Security Officers (CSOs) organised by the CSO Roundtable of ASIS International
  • An enlarged exhibition featuring the latest in security technology and services
  • Networking opportunities at the President's Reception, business lunches and networking breaks
