Apollo App helps to be compliant with BS 5839-1

Apollo Fire Detectors has launched a new mobile app for iOS and Android devices to help users to be compliant with BS 5839-1 rules and regulations when installing fire detection and notification devices. In addition to the guide, there is an installation checklist enabling installers to monitor what has been completed.

The app, which is available to download from the Apollo website, Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store,  also features an XPERT Card and DIL Switch addressing system. This tool will be valuable for anyone addressing Apollo detectors on a system.  The XPERT card can be simply addressed by inputting the address to see which pips to remove, or alternatively by selecting the removed pips to check the address of a pre-addressed XPERT card.  Similarly with the DIL Switch, the installer can find out how to set the switches to create the address required. This process can also be reversed to discover the address of a pre- addressed unit.

Sales and Marketing Director Ed Browning said: “Our existing app has always been very popular with UK Specifiers and Installers, providing additional peace of mind that they were installing our devices in accordance with the British standard. Our new app has been re-developed to improve user experience and is compatible with the latest mobile devices on the market.”
