FLIR Launches Thermal PTZ Dome Camera

Photo

FLIR Systems launched the FLIR TCX PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom), the first thermal PTZ camera that is both compatible with the industry’s top video standards and includes onboard Video Motion Detection (VMD) analytics.

The FLIR TCX PTZ outperforms standard visible light cameras by using a thermal camera to provide the industry’s most accurate alarm assessment and visual verification. Using thermal, security professionals can see clearly in complete darkness, in challenging lighting conditions, low-contrast scenes, inclement weather, or heavily landscaped areas to help determine the correct response strategy.

The TCX PTZ is compatible with existing security systems, including FLIR’s MPX, or HDCVI, IP, and analog. It is also ONVIF Profile S compliant to easily integrate with legacy intrusion detection technology like shaker fences, trip wires, and motion detectors. The TCX PTZ combines VMD analytics and FLIR’s proprietary Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) thermal video technology to display high-contrast foreground and background details that improves video analytics performance.

“The new FLIR TCX Thermal PTZ is a major advancement in security as it provides best-in-class alarm assessment and visual verification capabilities,” said John Distelzweig, Vice President and General Manager of FLIR’s Security segment. “FLIR’s thermal imaging technology provides security professionals with the technology they trust and information they need to respond appropriately.”

Available in either 640x480 resolution with a 32 degree lens or 320x240 resolution with a 25 degree lens, both with 4x continuous eZoom and continuous 360 degree panning, the TCX PTZ captures video footage at multiple angles and perspectives. The FLIR TCX PTZ is now available for purchase through security distribution channels. To learn more, visit: www.flir.com/tcx-ptz

DEHNventil ACI M: Standard-compliant Surge Protection in Industry

High demands are placed on the availability of switchgear in, for example, industrial plants, data centres, hospitals and large administrative buildings. This makes surge protection essential. At the same time, replacement of the surge protection module should not influence system availability. The new DEHNventil ACI M TNS 264 FM has no backup fuse and is flexible in terms of its application. In the event of a fault, the protection module is safely disconnected and can be quickly removed from the base part from either side or the front. The touch-safe design allows the protection module to be replaced without system downtime. The ACI technology employed also enables connection cross-sections of just 16 mm2. This facilitates installation and saves time.

HVI Light Plus for Lightning Protection Applications

When installing bare, uninsulated air-termination conductors on the roof, the separation distance to electrical and metal systems installed under the roof surface must be maintained in accordance with the current lightning protection standard DIN EN 62305-3. Cable installations, pipe systems or metal parts are frequently installed under the roofing in direct proximity to the air-termination system / down conductor, thus posing a proximity issue. The solution is isolated air-termination systems with high-voltage-resistant, insulated down conductors.
