Wanzl + ASTRUM IT: Secure and Efficient Digital Visitor Management with E-Reception – GSA25 Finalist
Wanzl, a specialist in fully automatic access systems, is working with digital vitality software expert Astrum IT to develop a holistic solution for digitising visitor management with E-Reception.
Together, they offer an innovative product combination with the V17 and V21 terminals, the Galaxy Gate 1.1 access gate from Wanzl and the VISIT visitor management software from Astrum IT. Visitors can register digitally, receive a security briefing at the terminal and are automatically recorded in the system as they pass through the access gates, reducing staff workload, saving costs and eliminating waiting times, while increasing building security.
Office complexes, hospitals, factories, banks and insurance companies – all log a significant number of visitors every day. To ensure smooth processes, access to these facilities must be uncomplicated, fast and secure. The security partnership between Wanzl and Astrum IT offers a complete solution for the management of external parties – visitors, contractors and suppliers. Together, the two experts ensure fast and digital registration, analysis of visitor numbers, automated access control to the building and recording of visitor processes compliant with data protection regulations. This efficiently covers the requirements for critical infrastructure operators (KRITIS) and the NIS-2 implementing law (NIS stands for network and information security) and increases the cyber resilience of companies.
After accepting the visitor conditions on the monitor and receiving a security briefing, visitors receive their access authorisation quickly and easily directly at the E-Reception of the Wanzl terminal. Depending on the visitor’s role and function, it is possible to assign individual authorisations and thus restrict access to protected areas of the building. To avoid waiting times, visitors can even register from home, from their office or on the go, in 25 different languages. Galaxy Gate 1.1 scans the personal QR code sent in advance. The software-monitored, electromotive ESG swing arms open immediately, allowing the visitor to enter. Galaxy Gates 1.1 are equipped with integrated, intelligent sensor technology for increased security. This sensor system detects if a person is attempting to gain unauthorised access. In addition, the Galaxy Gate 1.1 can verify the visitor's identity by scanning an ID document prior to entry, and connect the visitor to a receptionist via intercom or video call. This ensures smooth and secure access for visitors at multiple entrances and locations.
