The Expanded Metal Company has recruited Damian Ferris-Eamer to support business development and client management in Northumberland, Cumbria, Yorkshire, County Durham, Lancashire and Derbyshire.
Damian, who is from South Yorkshire, will be responsible for driving the further regional growth of The Expanded Metal Company’s products and services, drawing on his extensive sales and business development experience.
He previously held the post of area sales manager for Columbia Metals, a major supplier of copper and nickel alloys, stainless steel and titanium, where he engaged extensively with the oil and gas, aerospace, defence, automotive, offshore and nuclear industries, and worked with a number of global manufacturers.
Damian has also worked in sales positions in the electrical industry, and was the youngest ever depot manager for heating and plumbing products supplier Wolseley UK.
Commenting on his appointment, Damian Ferris-Eamer said: “The Expanded Metal Company is well known and highly regarded across the industries I have worked with during my career to date, and this role represented a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the growth of an innovative, forward-thinking business that’s very supportive of its customers and is always looking to take the next step in terms of product and service development.
“I’m delighted to be part of The Expanded Metal Company and to be working alongside a team that can apply deep manufacturing knowledge and problem-solving capabilities to such a wide range or projects and industrial environments.”
Philip Astley, managing director of The Expanded Metal Company, added: “Damian has a highly impressive track record in sales and vast experience of working across numerous industry sectors, making him a perfect fit for our business.
“It was important that we brought in a territory manager of Damian’s pedigree to support our existing clients – and build new relationships – in northern England, as part of our national growth strategy.”
