Fire door solution from Assa Abloy to protect Asia's tallest building

The Shanghai Tower under construction in the Chinese city will be a towering 121 stories when completed - the tallest building in Asia. Tianming has developed a customized fire door solution for the demanding specifications of the supertall skyscraper. Tianming, ASSA ABLOY Group's expert in the region, will supply and install 5,973 doors manufactured by sister company Yale. The project is a challenging one due to its size and the complexity and variety of the hardware to be fitted.

Xu Xiwu, sales director at Tianming, says: "The fire doors required for this project need to be highly soundproof, allow for quick evacuation and feature advanced technologies. To meet these unique requirements, we have followed the recommendations of the R&D team and provided a fire door solution that is customized to fit the needs of the Shanghai Tower."

Costing CNY 15 billion and eventually standing at 632 meters, the high-profile project naturally attracted a lot of interest from both local and international suppliers.
