Honeywell and LS Electric Forge Global Partnership to Advance Data Center and Energy Storage Innovation
Honeywell and LS Electric have announced a strategic global partnership aimed at accelerating innovation in power management and energy storage for data centers and commercial buildings. This collaboration will deliver integrated hardware and software solutions designed to enhance operational efficiency, resiliency, and sustainability.
By combining LS Electric’s expertise in power systems with Honeywell’s leadership in building automation and controls, the partnership will enable seamless integration of critical power distribution with broader building management functions. This includes intelligent load balancing to ensure capacity alignment and uninterrupted operations.
The initial phase of the collaboration will focus on delivering joint solutions such as integrated switchgear and advanced power management systems. These offerings will help data center operators maintain uptime and optimize energy use. Future developments will include electrical power monitoring systems built on Honeywell Forge, leveraging AI-driven predictive maintenance to identify and mitigate potential issues before they impact performance.
Beyond data centers, the companies will co-develop a modular, grid-aware Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) tailored for commercial and industrial buildings. This end-to-end solution will support microgrid creation, helping facilities manage demand and improve resiliency. The system will integrate LS Electric’s energy storage technologies with Honeywell’s dynamic energy control software, enabling real-time forecasting based on utility data, weather conditions, and risk factors.
“As global demand for data and energy continues to surge, our partnership with LS Electric brings together complementary strengths to deliver intelligent infrastructure that is resilient, efficient, and future-ready,” said Billal Hammoud, President and CEO of Honeywell Building Automation. “Together, we’re unlocking new possibilities for critical industries navigating the rapid evolution driven by AI and digitalization.”
JongWoo Kim, President of LS Electric Power Electric, added: “This collaboration marks a significant step in our global expansion into the data center and commercial building markets. By combining our expertise with Honeywell’s, we aim to deliver differentiated solutions that empower operators to achieve both energy efficiency and reliability.”
With data centers currently consuming 1–2% of global electricity—a figure expected to rise sharply—this partnership positions Honeywell as a one-stop provider for building automation, power distribution, and energy storage solutions.
