Intercede Announces Extended Support for Idemia Public Security Device Portfolio
Intercede announced that the latest version of its flagship product, MyID CMS 12.18, now supports an extended range of security keys and authentication devices from Idemia Public Security (IPS).
This expanded integration marks a significant milestone in the complementary use of Fido2 and PIV (Personal Identity Verification) authentication protocols. The latest IPS devices are the first solution on the market to deliver Fido authentication built on the same Cosmo X platform used to achieve FIPS 201 PIV certification - offering federal agencies and large enterprises an unprecedented pathway to modernize their authentication infrastructure without abandoning their existing PKI investments.

The combination marks a fundamental shift in how organizations approach enterprise and federal identity. Idemia Public Security's hardware puts both Fido and PKI credentials on a single device, and MyID CMS manages both, giving administrators one place to issue, manage, and revoke credentials across the full lifecycle, with consistent policy enforcement throughout.
This matters because neither technology alone is sufficient for the most demanding environments. PKI and the PIV standard deliver the certificate-based trust chains, identity proofing rigor, and regulatory compliance that federal and high-assurance enterprise deployments require. Fido delivers phishing-resistant, passwordless authentication across modern applications, Cloud services, and mobile workflows. With both on a single IPS device managed through MyID, organizations no longer have to choose: they get the assurance of PKI and the agility of Fido under one roof and governed by one consistent policy.
"This is the integration our customers have been asking for," said Allen Storey, Chief Product Officer of Intercede. "By bringing together IPS’s world-class hardware security with our credentialing platform, we are giving agencies and enterprises the only solution that delivers Fido built on the full PIV platform. This isn’t an incremental improvement – it’s a fundamental shift giving organizations choice in how they deploy phishing-resistant authentication at scale.”
“We are thrilled to see Intercede embrace the full breadth of our device portfolio, through the world-leading MyID CMS," said Teresa Wu, VP of Smart Credentials at Idemia Public Security. "Our customers in the federal space and across the enterprise have long needed a credentialing partner that understands the critical importance of the PIV standard while pushing forward with Fido. This partnership ensures that every IPS device, from our flagship security keys to our FIPS-certified models, works seamlessly within a unified, standards-based authentication framework."
Intercede and Idemia Public Security will be holding a webinar on May 6th to discuss the new devices and how they are integrated into MyID CMS 12.18. Details can be found
