Logan Teleflex: major contract to supply a solution for Cape Town International Airport. Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) has awarded Logan Teleflex a major contract worth over £ 3 million to supply a solution for Cape Town International Airport.

The company and its local partner Parnis Engineering Group beat the competition to meet exacting design, performance and price criteria for the provision of the new state-of-the-art 100% Hold Baggage Screening (HBS) and Tilt Tray Sorter (TTS) solution, which will be used by all Airlines operating at Cape Town.

This is the first project to see the supplier’s TTS technology deployed in Africa. ACSA is predicting huge increases in passengers with the forthcoming 2010 World Cup, rising to about 14 million a year by 2015.

With this level of expansion the Airport has begun work on its new mid-terminal where the Logan Teleflex baggage handling system will be installed with a startup and test date tow ards the end of 2008.
