Sepura Appoints Head of Hardware to Lead Product Development Team

Sepura have made an exciting addition to their product team with the recruitment of Dr. Heather Rolls as their new Head of Hardware Development.

Rolls has joined the global critical communications supplier at a crucial time to lead their development of next generation Sepura devices.

Rolls will head up a team of engineers designing Sepura’s powerful radios, using experience gained in developing mission critical products for the security and defence market.

Speaking about her new role with Sepura, Rolls said: “I am really excited to be joining Sepura at such an exciting time in its history, as it looks to bring to market intelligent solutions to support public safety users. My experience is very much in matching user requirements to industry capability to produce true innovation. Sepura is a great home for me given the company’s history in breaking new ground within critical communications.

“We have seen in recent years that many organisations including police forces in the UK, Sweden, Italy, Germany and around the world have chosen Sepura to support their front-line staff. Our challenge is to continue developing new products that keep us as the device of choice for these leading organisations.”

In previous roles at Ultra Electronics and Teledyne e2v, Rolls delivered successful products deployed in some of the world’s most demanding markets. These included electrical systems which prevented the build-up of ice on the wings of both commercial and military planes.

Duncan Crouch, Operations Director at Sepura, was delighted to add Rolls to his team, commenting: “The design and manufacturing excellence for which Sepura is known are crucial our customers and to the company’s future success. Heather has proven experience in developing mission-critical products for customers in the defence and security markets, and we are delighted to add her to our team in Cambridge. She has a key role to play in ensuring that future Sepura Tetra and LTE products will continue to keep us at the forefront of critical communications.”
