Zenitel, a global leader and supplier of the Stentofon and Vingtor brands of communication systems, has been awarded the contract to provide communications to seven drillships for shipbuilder Estaleiro Atlântico Sul in Brazil. Estaleiro Atlântico Sul manufactures carrier vessels, offshore platforms, and offers repair services for vessels and oil exploration units.
Belmiro Duarte, Area Manager for Zenitel Marine Brazil, said, "Our goal is to build and maintain a strong and positive presence in the Brazilian shipbuilding industry. By combining high audio products along with local support, we provide the shipyards and ship-owners with timely, quality service."
In 2010, Zenitel opened up a local office in Brazil to better serve the Brazilian customer base and quickly expanded its market share in the Marine, Oil and Gas segments. Maintaining this local presence has proven to be highly successful for the company. From the office in Rio De Janeiro, Zenitel Brazil continues to increase their market share yearly. The company estimates that 33% of all vessels built in Brazil have communication equipment provided by Zenitel onboard.
"This contract is extremely important for Zenitel's mission to increase market shares in the Marine, Oil and Gas segments worldwide," said Kenneth Dastol, Zenitel CEO. The results we've experienced so far are proof of a successful entry into the Brazilian market. By continuing to put our customers' needs first and finding the most viable solutions, we are able to secure more contracts within the field of critical communication."
