Over 500 detectors in one room might seem a little excessive, but the ceiling of the onsite test facility at Detectortesters is covered with the widest range of fire detectors, and constantly being updated as new models become available.
The company works in partnership with all the leading detector manufacturers to ensure that their products are compatible and safe to use with the widest range of detectors across the world. As well as having the endorsement of detector manufacturers, core products are compliant with industry codes and standards. Compatibility testing is no easy feat, as the 500+ detectors in the lab include devices of different profile, design and age to ensure that all the different types of detector that can be expected on one site will all be properly functionally checked.
Smoke, heat and rate-of-rise, combined multi-criteria, and aspirating detectors can all be tested in accordance with their specification. The process is simplified for the operator so that the essential testing task is completed efficiently without ladders, and also without nuisance re-alarms. The XTR2 kit includes the covering unit, battery and charger, as well as a smoke generator. The associated app for mobile devices captures data in real time and presents the results in a clear table format. Other versions of the kit provide for extended reach.
