Dom Sicherheitstechnik: Online Mesh on the interconnection of digital locks (GSA27-55)
The Dom Online Mesh is a brand new solution for the Ethernet entry point of a Thread mesh network. It connects a building's access control IT network to a scalable wireless mesh. One Dom Online Gateway can connect multiple Dom Online Repeaters. Each repeater extends coverage to the door and handles communication to digital access devices via Bluetooth LE.
This enables online functionality such as remote door control, live events and real-time battery information in complex layouts and over long distances within buildings, using significantly less wiring.
Scalability is straightforward. With each repeater able to manage 16 devices concurrently, a single IP point can potenitially reach up to 512 connected digital devices.
Typical use cases include retrofit projects, hospitals, schools, office buildings and campus sites. For operators, installers and specifiers this translates into lower installation effort, faster commissioning and step by step expansion by zone, supporting strong rollout economics.
Security and availability are key.
The Thread mesh is self-healing. If one repeater fails, devices within radio range can attach to another repeater and traffic is rerouted via alternate paths, given sufficient mesh density and coverage. In addition, monitoring and controlled device admission reduce service visits and improve operational transparency.
