Next Generation Wireless IIoT Gateway Solution

Photo

It can be a challenge to find an Industrial IoT (IIoT) gateway that easily connects geographically dispersed devices to the cloud, especially in outdoor or rugged environments that are common in smart city, civil infrastructure, and industrial automation applications. Not only does the IIoT gateway need to be easy to deploy, it must be easy to maintain over an expected operational life of at least 5 years.

The UC-8200 industrial computing platform is designed for embedded data acquisition applications. The computer comes with dual RS-232/422/485 serial ports, dual 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet ports, and one CAN port as well as dual Mini PCIe socket to support Wi-Fi/cellular modules. These versatile capabilities let users efficiently adapt the UC-8200 to a variety of complex communications solutions.

Power-Efficient Performance and Robust 4G LTE Connectivity
The UC-8200 is built around an Arm Cortex-A7 dual core processor that has been optimized for use in energy monitoring systems, but is widely applicable to a variety of industrial solutions. With flexible interfacing options, this tiny embedded computer is a reliable and secure gateway for data acquisition and processing at field sites as well as a useful communications platform for many other large-scale deployments.

Wide temperature LTE-enabled models are available for extended temperature applications. All units are thoroughly tested in a testing chamber, guaranteeing that the LTE-enabled computing platforms are suitable for wide-temperature applications.

Moxa Industrial Linux with Superior 10-Year Long-Term Support
Moxa Industrial Linux (MIL) is a high-performance, industrial-grade Linux distribution developed by Moxa designed to help accelerate industrial projects. MIL provides a container-based virtual-machine-like middleware abstraction layer between the OS and applications. Flexible software middleware allows multiple isolated systems to run on a single control host so that system integrators and engineers can easily change the behavior of an application without worrying about software compatibility. Equipped with MIL, Moxa’s UC Series next-generation IIoT gateways offer an efficient, flexible, and robust platform for an array of IIoT edge computing scenarios. Furthermore, to address the needs of long-term software used for the power, water, oil & gas, transportation, and building automation industries, MIL provides 10-year long-term Linux support with an extensive range of security fixes, making your IIoT projects secure and sustainable.

DEHNventil ACI M: Standard-compliant Surge Protection in Industry

High demands are placed on the availability of switchgear in, for example, industrial plants, data centres, hospitals and large administrative buildings. This makes surge protection essential. At the same time, replacement of the surge protection module should not influence system availability. The new DEHNventil ACI M TNS 264 FM has no backup fuse and is flexible in terms of its application. In the event of a fault, the protection module is safely disconnected and can be quickly removed from the base part from either side or the front. The touch-safe design allows the protection module to be replaced without system downtime. The ACI technology employed also enables connection cross-sections of just 16 mm2. This facilitates installation and saves time.

HVI Light Plus for Lightning Protection Applications

When installing bare, uninsulated air-termination conductors on the roof, the separation distance to electrical and metal systems installed under the roof surface must be maintained in accordance with the current lightning protection standard DIN EN 62305-3. Cable installations, pipe systems or metal parts are frequently installed under the roofing in direct proximity to the air-termination system / down conductor, thus posing a proximity issue. The solution is isolated air-termination systems with high-voltage-resistant, insulated down conductors.
