With the multifunctional safety relay PSR UNI, Phoenix Contact pursues a consistently new approach: instead of multiple specialized safety relays, a single safety relay takes over the monitoring of a wide range of safety functions.
PSR UNI covers nearly all common safety applications and enables the monitoring of up to two independent safe sensor circuits with just one device. Depending on the device type, parameterization is carried out either directly on the device via rotary coding switches or by means of intuitive software. Thanks to this flexibility, sensor type, start behaviour, and output logic can be individually configured. This allows different safety reactions to be implemented within a single device, such as the complete shutdown of all outputs in the event of an emergency stop or a selective output switching when a light curtain is triggered. Optional configurable time functions further extend the range of applications, as does the possible use in line emergency stop concepts.
With a width of just 22.5 mm, push in connection technology, and suitability up to SIL 3 / PL e, PSR UNI combines the highest safety standards with minimum space and maximum resource efficiency. This approach reduces device variants, lowers inventory costs, and creates a future proof foundation for modular machine concepts. PSR UNI therefore stands as an example of intelligent simplification in machine and plant safety.
