tci: Secure touch panels for industry and buildings

In modern production environments, touch panels are central interfaces to machines, control systems and networks - and therefore a relevant point of attack for cyber threats. tci GmbH is meeting this challenge with a new generation of secure touch panels that have been specially developed according to the principle of security by design. Industrial security is not an afterthought, but an integral part of the product concept. The first representative of the new generation, the F07A, is a touch panel with a capacitive 7-inch multi-touch display. The panels are based on a hardened Linux system with Yocto framework, offer a write-protected root file system and only allow signed system images during the boot process. With robust and maintenance-free hardware, they are designed for long-term applications in industry, production, energy and logistics.

Unique selling points:

  • Security by design: development focussed on industrial security from the outset
  • TPM (Trusted Platform Module): Protects cryptographic keys and ensures that both software and hardware are unchanged and trustworthy
  • Secure Boot: Protection against manipulation - only signed images are accepted
  • Hardened Linux system: Yocto-based, minimalist, long-term available, robust and updateable, reduces the attack surface to a minimum
  • Write-protected root file system: Prevents unwanted changes to the system
  • -Cloud-based updates: Secure
