Video Databases without Limits
Geutebruck is now adding two powerful devices to its Expert Servers range: the integrated RAID controller of the G-Scope/8000-IP16SAS can not only control its internal RAID system of up to 16 hard drives, it can also manage up to 15 type JB16 external JBODs (HDD enclosures), each with up to 16 hard drives. Database sizes of up to 256 TB can be easily implemented. But along with size comes the question of controllability. Access times are important so, even at the maximum database size, images are available again about one minute after a restart, while searching for events brings up results in just a few seconds. The high level of reliability and availability essential at such a system size is achieved through redundant components and server operating system.
