W&T: transport medium RS232 Battery Buffer. W&T has introduced the transport medium RS232 Battery Buffer.
It’s not always possible to load data from a computer to a machine directly using a serial data cable. And data transfer via floppy, CD or USB stick is often out of the question for reasons of incompatibility. For these cases the company has designed the 4 MB medium – a memory stick with a serial RS232 port.
Battery power enables to transport, read and upload data independent of any external power supply. The product also converts the baud rate, parity, data bits and handshake protocol.
This means it can also transfer data to and from machines such as CNC milling machines or plotters regardless of their transmission parameter requirements.
