Sicurezza 2025: A Post-Show Review
The Milan International Building Alliance (MIBA) concluded its latest edition at Fiera Milano from 19 to 22 November, reaffirming its role as a benchmark event for professionals in construction, architecture, and building technologies. This year’s edition attracted 85,000 visitors from 112 countries and featured 1,369 exhibitors, marking a five percent increase compared to 2023. These figures confirm the growing importance of MIBA as a platform for dialogue and innovation in the built environment.
MIBA brought together four major events – MADE expo, SMART BUILDING EXPO, SICUREZZA, and GEE – Global Elevator Exhibition – creating a unique space for professionals to explore technologies, materials, and solutions that are shaping the future of buildings and cities. The exhibition was not only a showcase of products but also a forum for strategic discussions on how to accelerate the transformation of our living spaces.
Three Themes Driving the Future

The event focused on three key themes: sustainability, energy and digital transition, and professional training. These themes reflect the priorities of the industry and define the roadmap for the evolution of cities and communities. Sustainability was at the center of the conversation, with initiatives such as the Made Sustainable Prize (SusPrize) highlighting projects that combine innovation, aesthetics, and social responsibility. These projects demonstrate that excellence in design can coexist with environmental and community values, setting a new standard for the sector.
Energy and digital transition emerged as another critical area of focus. From integrated design to intelligent energy systems and digital platforms, MIBA showcased solutions that are reshaping the entire life cycle of buildings. Experts emphasized the urgency of electrification, efficiency, and digitalization as essential steps toward safer and more sustainable spaces. These changes are not only environmental choices but also economic and social imperatives that require collaboration across the supply chain and constructive engagement with institutions.
Training as a Strategic Priority
Professional training was a major highlight of MIBA 2025, with more than 100 conferences and seminars dedicated to developing specialized skills. As technologies evolve rapidly, particularly in sensitive sectors such as security, the need for qualified professionals capable of selecting and implementing the most suitable solutions has become critical. Initiatives such as the Advanced Training Course in Cultural Security Management, presented at SICUREZZA, represent significant progress in creating new professional roles to meet emerging challenges.
Walk Through Impressions

Voices from the Industry
Industry leaders shared their perspectives on the transformation underway. Professor Niccolò Aste from the Politecnico di Milano emphasized the importance of integrating sustainability and design in line with the New European Bauhaus vision. Roberto Martino, President of Prosiel, called for stronger collaboration across the supply chain to accelerate safe, digital, and sustainable building practices. Carlo Hruby, Vice President of the Enzo Hruby Foundation, presented a groundbreaking training program for cultural security management, developed with the University of Pavia, which establishes for the first time in Italy the formal role of the Cultural Security Manager.

Looking Ahead
MIBA 2025 confirmed its role as more than an exhibition; it is a hub for innovation, dialogue, and collaboration that will shape the future of the built environment. The next edition is scheduled for 17 to 19 November 2027 at Fiera Milano, promising to continue this journey toward sustainable, digital, and inclusive spaces.
