The Alliance for Economic Security West (ASW West), to be known as VSW NRW in the future, underscored its commitment to further improving communication between government agencies and the business community.

The NRW Security Day 2026, held on June 24, 2026, at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), highlighted just how much the understanding of security in business and society is changing. Amid geopolitical tensions, digital threats, and increasing regulation, economic security is taking center stage in corporate responsibility.

DLR, Research and Safety: Insights from the Host

From the host’s perspective, Dr. Melanie von der Wiesche of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) kicked off the event. She outlined the DLR’s role as an interdisciplinary research institution that addresses not only aerospace but also energy, transportation, and security technologies. Particularly in the field of critical infrastructure and resilience research, it becomes clear how closely scientific findings and practical security issues are linked.
