The JustIN Mobile app now supports Near Field Communication (NFC)-powered “Tap to Access” functionality on iOS devices, delivering a fast, secure, and intuitive way for users across Europe to unlock doors simply by tapping their iPhone on a Salto smart lock or wall reader.
For years, the industry has recognized that the most seamless method for mobile door unlocking is direct physical interaction, similar to using a traditional keycard. With “Tap to Access,” users can now enter buildings, offices, homes, and more by holding their iPhone near a Salto smart lock or reader, leveraging the convenience and security of NFC technology. This upgrade significantly enhances flexibility for existing JustIN Mobile Digital Key users while providing a highly requested contactless access experience.
The NFC functionality is built on robust security foundations. Every credential transaction is verified and encrypted, ensuring the highest level of protection and privacy. By integrating NFC “Tap to Access” technology for iOS devices, Salto delivers a solution that is not only powerful and intuitive but also uncompromising in its security standards.
Transitioning to NFC is simple for existing users. Within the app settings, they can easily switch from Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) mode to NFC mode, ensuring a smooth migration without compromising security. Additionally, the iPhone Lock Screen Widget offers an even faster and more seamless experience, reducing friction while maintaining strong authentication protocols.
This upgrade is rolling out immediately to JustIN Mobile iOS users across Europe.
