Hikvision introduces new series of mini PanuVu cameras

Photo

Hikvision has launched a new series of mini PanuVu cameras, which boasts a non-stitched panoramic view, making it sharper, and a PTZ lens for more detail. The series (DS-2PT3326IZ-DE3) will be of particular interest to installers who are looking for an easy, and therefore cost-efficient installation.

Panorama + PTZ = clarity and detail

Three fixed lenses of 128.5º give a full 360º angle, forming individual images. As these images are taken separately, they have lower distortion and give sharper resolution. A PTZ lens also gives the cameras the ability to zoom into the relevant detail, where necessary, making the solution much more flexible. The lens can pan to 350º and tilt from 0º - -90º.

The cameras are able to give users a four-channel 1080MP live view simultaneously, giving an integrated, wide view of the area, while allowing them to zoom in and track interesting people or vehicles.

More features include:

  • High Edge Definition, with 3x 2mm lenses forming images independently
  • Low Image Distortion, with those lenses and sensors forming images
  • Ultra-wide FOV up to 360°
  • IR distance of 10m.

Simple installation and multiple application

The cameras have been designed with simple installation in mind. A single power cable and a single IP (but with four streams) reduces wiring and overall time to install. Add the fact that one camera can do the job of four others, and you get a comprehensive, cost-efficient solution for numerous applications.

Traditional solutions use a number of different cameras, with different IPs. This makes them harder to manage and install. Often fisheye cameras are using in these applications and these can suffer from distortion. They also can’t give the same amount of detail, with no PTZ capability.

These cameras will be excellent for indoor multi-spot surveillance, like in retail (e.g. surroundings + cashier desk); education (e.g. classroom + platform); and healthcare (e.g. hospital hall + window). There is also an outdoor product in the series (DS-2PT5326IZ-DE), bringing all the benefits to the outdoor scenarios, like crossroads, public areas or parks. The outdoor camera is built to the IP66 standard, protecting it against dust and water.

Other features of the outdoor camera are:

  • 3x 2MP 4mm lenses
  • Horizontal FOV of 270°
  • 2MP PTZ, with pan/tilt of 0° - 180°/15° - 55°

Peter Guan, Hikvision’s EU Channel and Marketing Director, said: “Our new series of PanoVu cameras really packs a punch, especially for such a small device. Undistorted images even at night, the ability to zoom and great coverage join a whole raft of features crammed into a camera that’s not much bigger than a smart phone.”
