TDSi Unveils Latest Gardis Software Updates for Version 2.4
Integrated security manufacturer TDSi has unveiled the latest version of its powerful but highly flexible and secure access control Gardis software – Version 2.4. New enhancements include an enhanced Site Plan function, integration to Microsoft Active Directory, and Distributed Communications support for full security and business systems network integration.
Tina Baker, Software Project Manager at TDSi comments, “It’s no secret that the Gardis software platform is built to evolve and expand over time, adding additional functionality and features which match the needs of our customers. These latest additions are in answer to feedback from our partners and customers on what security operators need in terms of integration with their buildings management systems now, as well as what will prove to be essential moving forwards.”
Site Plan
Gardis v2.4 includes an enhanced Site Plan function which enables a secure access control system to be planned/built based upon locational benefits, rather than just from an equipment list. Icons representing the various components can be moved onto the site plan to design and optimise the best solution for the needs of the organisation and its teams.
Active Directory integration
Already a highly popular function on TDSi’s previous generation EXgarde software, Gardis v2.4 now includes integration to the Microsoft Active Directory network solution for enhanced systems interconnectivity. This ensures that related data (such as personnel records or Time and Attendance for example) is shared directly between the Active Directory database and GARDiS.
Distributed Communications
The latest version of Gardis also includes support for Distributed Communications networks where the access control’s communications server isn’t just running in a centralised system and has more complex needs from its security solution. This enables the organisation to configure its secure access control network to match the architecture of its business systems for greater flexibility as required.
Tina concluded, “With these latest additions now complete, we are developing and testing the enhancements for Gardis v2.5 which will be available later this year. It will introduce further exciting functionality including integration with the Suprema BioStar biometric software and Pelco's VideoXpert video management system.”
The latest additions join a host of new features that were introduced earlier this year in Gardis Version 2.3. These included Universal decode/auto detect, Support for RS485 readers, Generation of Filo (First In Last Out) reports, Extended door lockdown, Access Control Units (ACU) inconsistency, Automated Report Emailing, a Data Fusion and Exporter, and Bespoke badge design and printing.
