According to the manufacturer Tell, the OPEN.ioting Smart Gate Opener is a WiFi/LAN-based retrofit module designed for electric gates and garage door operators. Users operate the device through a mobile app, with additional support for Apple Watch, Apple CarPlay, Alexa and Google Home.
Its core functionality focuses on structured user management: an Owner invites users and assigns access permissions. Up to 50 users are included, and one-time in-app upgrades can expand capacity to 100 or 500 users.
For traceability, the system provides a detailed event log that records user identity, issued commands, the source of the action, timestamps, response times and error details.
A geolocation-based automatic opening function (Geofencing) is also available. The manufacturer notes that this feature is in BETA and performance may vary. All location data remains stored locally on the mobile device for GDPR compliance.
Communication uses 2048‑bit RSA encryption. When limit switches are connected, the app displays gate status and sends notifications if the gate remains open. The product line includes 230 V AC (with optional PoE) and 12–24 V versions.
