The Elevation Academy Training Centre has officially opened in Leeds, marking a new training resource for fire safety professionals in the north of England. The centre aims to support the regional installer and contractor community with structured, in‑person learning opportunities.

Representatives from Hochiki Europe, including Regional Sales Managers Mick Hall and Nicholas Brammall, attended the opening event, where they met trainees and instructors and provided product samples for training purposes.

The new facility plans to deliver face‑to‑face training to between 30 and 40 industry participants each month. Its programme covers a broad range of topics, including the Fire and Security Apprenticeship, Fire Training aligned to BS5839‑1:2025, Fire Extinguisher training, and the Experienced Worker Assessment. Additional courses are already in development.

The centre’s offerings are designed for both newcomers to the industry and experienced engineers seeking to expand or formalise their expertise. With evolving technologies and regulatory requirements, structured, up‑to‑date training continues to play an important role across the fire safety sector.

Hochiki Europe operates its own training academy, providing a combination of online and in‑person courses, and has expressed support for initiatives that contribute to skills development within the industry. At the opening event, Managing Director Shinsuke Kubo highlighted the importance of investing in professional training across the fire safety field.

Looking ahead, Elevation Academy is developing a digital training platform intended to expand access to learning materials. Collaboration opportunities with industry partners, including Hochiki Europe, may support this next step.

Both organisations emphasise the long‑term value of strengthening training pathways to help ensure a skilled workforce capable of meeting future fire safety challenges.
