Logistics processes conclusively documented at Zschimmer & Schwarz

Zschimmer & Schwarz is a global manufacturer and supplier of chemical products. Logistics is a particular focus here, as incorrectly or poorly secured goods can have serious consequences in the event of an accident. To minimize this risk, loading processes, including the transfer of liability to the carrier, are documented transparently - with a video system from Geutebrück.

Otto Zschimmer and Max Schwarz founded a chemicals wholesaler in 1894 and began producing their own chemical products in 1909. Today, the company, headquartered in Lahnstein, Germany, is represented in over 60 countries, employs more than 1500 people and develops, produces and distributes chemical products for various industries. Whether in the cosmetics and care industry, in the manufacture of paints and varnishes, in vehicle and mechanical engineering, in consumer goods production, the clothing industry or in the construction industry - always in the background and yet as a driving force of innovation, Zschimmer & Schwarz supplies tailor-made chemical auxiliaries, thus ensuring that products become more effective, robust, versatile and efficient.

As a member of Responsible Care, the company strives for continuous improvement in the areas of environment, safety, and health, regardless of legal requirements. To avoid serious accidents, special emphasis is placed on load safety. Trained employees closely monitor and control every loading process. The company also installed a video system from Geutebrück, which comprehensively documents every step of the process in detail. Each loading ramp is equipped with a camera with suitable lighting to record the front area of the ramp and the entire open loading area of the respective truck.

Operation is extremely simple: video recording and lighting are switched on and off using a button. To protect the privacy of employees, the Geutebrück Motion Privacy function automatically pixelates every movement. The status and securing of the load, on the other hand, are visible in detail. Image search and playback take place at the authorized in-house workstations, where images and video sequences can be printed or exported as evidence if required.

In this project, Geutebrück provided consulting, solution conception, project planning, commissioning support and comprehensive training for the operators. The solution is prepared to be enhanced for additional functionality, such as linking the video data with the consignment data or covering other areas of application.

Svenja Engler, Director of Global Information Technology at Zschimmer & Schwarz, is delighted: "The experts from Geutebrück were very professional and provided us with individual advice. As a family business, Geutebrück shares our values. We immediately got the impression that they don't just want to sell something, but really want to help. We are looking forward to intensify our cooperation, because the Geutebrück solutions are really versatile and interesting for us in other areas too."
