WinnaVegas Casino Resort Chooses Tyco Security Products for Integrated Security

Tyco Security Products announced that WinnaVegas Casino Resort in Sloan, Iowa, USA, has deployed a complete security solution using victor Unified security management platform to integrate its access control and video surveillance systems for use throughout its recently expanded casino facilities, hotel and parking lots.

In addition to the deployment of the victor Unified Client, WinnaVegas Casino and Resort added a host of new Illustra IP PTZ and mini-dome cameras from Tyco Security Products. The Illustra Pro PTZ cameras’ ability to move into position at a rate of up to 512° per second allows WinnaVegas security officers to quickly and more efficiently monitor suspicious behavior in real time. The new Illustra PTZ cameras provide high resolution video, low latency and the discreet size desired for the installation. The victor platform and new VideoEdge network video recorders (NVRs) and hybrid recorders provide a seamless, single user interface for surveillance staff to monitor both access control and surveillance alarm events.

Joe Twaddle on system compatibility
“Our new and existing video products from Tyco Security Products work well together, and the integration has been truly seamless,” said Joe Twaddle, Lead Technician Surveillance for WinnaVegas Casino Resort. “The new surveillance system is backwards compatible, which means we can continue to leverage our existing surveillance investments when upgrading in the future.”

Thanks to its new security solution, the casino’s security personnel are better able to manage live and recorded video directly from video devices, including the new VideoEdge NVRs/hybrid recorders and legacy video recorders, using the victor Unified Client. VideoEdge’s Smart Search uses motion data collected with video while it is recorded to enable WinnaVegas staff to quickly search for, review and export event findings as needed.

With integrator partner North American Video, WinnaVegas Casino Resort has also deployed the victor Unified Client to manage its video and doors at its on-site event center, a facility that hosts events and includes rentable community meeting rooms.

Charging and Storing Lithium-Ion Batteries Correctly

Lithium-ion batteries offer many advantages. They are long lasting, have a high energy density and are only slightly self-discharging. The batteries are therefore particularly practical for many devices in the industrial sector as well as in security technology. However, one thing should always be borne in mind: Lithium and many of its compounds are highly flammable and highly reactive. Certified and GS-tested type 90 safety cabinet models enable the highest safety requirements to be met when storing and charging lithium-ion batteries.
